Zooish Days

So, in the spirit of catching up, here's some pictures from our Phoenix Zoo trip 9-16-09. This was Charlie and Shaelynn's first visit to the zoo. They have taken an interest in animals and learning the signs for all of them lately so they were very excited to get to see some real wild animals. Shaelynn's favorites are lions and tigers. She talks about them all the time. Charlie says he likes ostriches best.
Allen's favorite are primates. He likes watching them.
Here are two big rhinos taking a nap. They loved these.
Shaelynn and dad looking at the baboons.
It got pretty warm so we let the kids get wet in the little kids' splash area.
Charlie was soaked from head to foot.
What could Charlie be so interested in...
This guy! We got to go inside the habitat and be up close to them. They were running all around chasing each other and the kids got a real kick out of it.
Right, so we didn't actually get a picture of any ostriches, but here's a relative.
Allen pretending to hold a pretty birdie.
Argh, matie!
I love the look on Shae's face. That's why we went!
Look at the big tortoise!
"He's hooge, mom!"
Shaelynn also likes the "eh-dad-ants." So, even though there was construction being done on their habitat, I'm glad she got to see one.
Charlie too!
It was a fun day and the kids keep asking to go back.
And that's what we do at the zoo! How about you?
